Georgia O'Keefe Watercolors

After learning about Georgia O'Keefe, we created watercolor paintings much like her own using a view finder to simplify the image.

  1. I love your watercolor painting! It is a really pretty flower and I think you did a great job showing the beauty of it. There are so many colors and they work so well together. The orange makes the green pop and gives great contrast.
I personally had a really hard time with this project so i am really impressed at how well your lines look and how you got the colors to blend so well.
In all honesty I don't think you could have improved this in any way. You did such a great job.

  2. Hi Loryn, :)

What do you see: A really bright and beautiful flower! :)

    Who made it:
    Loryn from my class.

    How was the artwork made:
It looks like it was painted with a variety of different watercolors on a piece of art paper. It looks like it took a lot of time and care.

    What does it mean?
I think it means she likes flowers. Maybe she likes the bright and colorful ones. It has a very warm and sunny feeling to it. I think that means she is a sunny person. It makes me smile to look at it!

What did the artist do well:
She made good use of the entire space. She used interesting line and color. It is done neatly and has quite of bit of personality.

    What could the artist change:
    Nothing. I love it.
